Let's start to study again!

Hello class! Welcome back!

That was a very strange spring break, but I hope you found a way to make it interesting and enjoyable.

For me the spring break was pretty good. I took a lot of walks. I walked up to the top of Potrero Hill a few times. Of course, I stayed six feet away from other people.

I also had a lot of meetings with other teachers. We are all learning new technology. These meetings were not face-to-face meetings. They were meetings on Zoom. Do you use Zoom? Zoom is a video calling application for your phone or computer. It is similar to Facetime. Maybe we will try Zoom in one of our classes in the future.

What else did I do? Well, I texted my friends a lot. And my wife and met with our friends on Zoom a few times. That was fun!

I also cooked a lot more than I usually do. I cooked spaghetti for my wife and me a couple of times. I made tostadas for us once.

One of our friends got the coronavirus. That was very scary. She was in the hospital for a few days, but now she is home, and she is doing better, so we are very happy about that!

. .. . . . .

How about you? How was your spring break? Were you busy? Were you bored? Did you work or did you stay home? Did you talk to friends? Did you watch a lot of TV? Did you go to the market? Were you worried?

I hope you can join us at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 4 on the Remind app.

Below there is a recording of me reading the text above. You can listen if you want to. Click "Listen in browser" or on the arrow. DON'T click on "Play on SoundCloud."

Click this link and you can find a translation of all of that.

I want to practice a lot with the past tense of the verb "Be" today. Here are some videos and exercises.

1. The Was and Were Song

2. Was and Were practice (English with Jennifer) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfVO3yFM1VE

3. Exercise: Was and Were with pronouns

4. Past tense conversations (Side-By-Side)

5. Was/were and wasn’t/weren’t exercise

I hope you enjoy those videos and exercises. And I hope to chat with you at 10:30 on Remind!
